About Us

Welcome to PLEASANT HILL

At Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church, we believe God has called us to minister to others and grow His Kingdom.  We believe and teach the Bible, and as God’s inspired Word charges us to do, our enduring belief is to love Him, love others, share the Gospel, and cultivate the the fertile grounds of a fallen world with more of His disciples.

For nearly a century, PHBC has worshiped and loved Him, and God has blessed us and allowed us to grow into where we are today.  We want you to come grow in grace and knowledge at our beloved church.

In March of 2021, we moved into a nearly 28,000 square-foot facility on the south side of Vanntown Road in Flintville, Tennessee, just across the road from the old building.  God blessed us with a sanctuary that can seat more than 500 people and an adjoining fellowship hall with almost the same capacity.  Outfitted with a large kitchen and industrial cooking stove and griddle, this fellowship hall allows us to gather together and enjoy one another even away from the worship service.  From ample classroom space, Children’s church (age 2 - kindergarten), a nursery, a quiet room, closed-circuit televisions to watch the service, state-of-the-art acoustics, and more, PHBC has all the amenities we need to help grow God’s kingdom and for your comfort as you worship.

Our church site for nearly a century has humble beginnings.  Near the site of the old Brown’s Chapel Methodist Church, a group of Baptists bought the land and erected a white wood-framed church on limestone rock in 1923.  The 22 original members grew and built onto the church in the 1950s, adding a porch and Sunday school quarters.

In the mid-1980s, a brief discussion about needing a new building led to a church member quickly scrawling a rough draft of building plans on the back of a brown paper sack.  The new building was voted on that night, approved, and the resulting brick building was completed in 1986, a cherished home until we outgrew it and moved again into our current building in 2021.

Bro. Milton Martin has served as PHBC’s pastor since December of 1985, and Bro. Jeremy Ogle became associate pastor in September of 2019.  You can read more about these men of God in their bios and our philosophy in the “What We Believe” section of this site.

We want you to call Pleasant Hill home.  Please come worship with us!
